What you need to know about the role
Working within the Electrical Infrastructure department you will be required to provide specialist advice in Electrical and Control Engineering to the British Steel business and to investigate engineering issues associated with electrical equipment, plant performance improvements (equipment upgrading/uprating) and obsolescence management etc.
As an Electrical & ControlDesign Engineer you will be required to prepare User Requirement Specifications, detailed electrical designs, technical specifications, CAD drawings, and contract documents to provide appropriate solutions, ensuring that the British Steel Business Standards regarding safety, technical performance, quality, finance, and programme are maintained.
What we need to know about you
To be considered for this role you will need to be educated to degree/HNC level or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline and will have achieved or be actively working towards Professional Engineer status.
You will have significant engineering experience specialising in Electrical or Control Engineering with a working knowledge of Electrical Engineering related regulations. Experience of working on heavy engineering projects in an industrial environment is desirable but not essential.
An understanding of British Steel Business Health, Safety and Environmental Standards, Guidance Notes and Policies, Safe Working Procedures, Safe Systems of Work and other safety related legislation would be advantageous.
You should be an effective team player able to communicate with employees and managers at all levels.
