Mechanical Design Engineer
An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer required to develop and customise products for the Truck and Trailer industry.
- Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to defined requirements.
- Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production.
- Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required.
- Customer liaison for projects.
Liaison with Workshop Supervisor’s to ensure projects are fulfilled on time. - Continuous Improvement of existing products.
Key Skills
- A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork.
- Hydraulic and Electrical Knowledge would be helpful.
- The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range.
- The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects.
- Minimum of HND in Mechanical Engineering.
Other Skills
- Excellent working knowledge of Inventor 3D CAD or similar.
- Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time.
- Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation.
- Able to work as part of a small team.
- Excellent communication skills.
