Our client designs and builds automated production machinery for a variety of customers worldwide.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on projects of all sizes, from small machine alterations to complete bespoke machinery solutions. The role will require you to create and prove concepts, liaise with customers, and support them through manufacturing to commissioning.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key part in developing effective solutions to our internal and external customer requirements, Inter-departmental communication will be a large part of the role to gain guidance and approval on designs as well as ensuring components are manufactured correctly.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:
- HND / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Skilled user of Solidworks and/or Inventor
- Experience Mechanical Handling equipment or Rotating Machinery
- Able to carry out engineering calculations
- Background as a senior engineer, mentoring more junior engineers
- A working knowledge of hydraulics would be advantageous
