Company Description:

A manufacturer of injection moulded components is looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join their team due to further expansion and growth.

Responsibilities as Design Engineer:

• Create designs for new products and modify existing designs.
• Provide information to the sales team including specifications, descriptions, drawings and images.
• Manage prototypes and build samples for testing and evaluation.
• When required travel to other company sites and customers (UK & Europe)
• Support the tooling department when needed creating and modifying 2D & 3D CAD files for tool modifications, jigs & fixtures.

Qualifications & Experience required:

• Experience with SolidWorks (3D) designing complex components and assemblies – if you are fully competent in plastic component design then CAD conversion training can be provided.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes ideally including plastics.
• Problem-Solving
• Able to interpret design instructions and requests.
• Happy to travel to UK & Europe (when needs arise)
• Ability to communicate technical information/data to engineers and non-technical staff in a clear & concise way.

This position is commutable from:

• Godmanchester, Huntingdon, Peterborough, St Ives, Chatteris
