An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Design Engineer to join a Plymouth based manufacturing firm.
We are looking for someone who can use their expertise to design and develop electromechanical components and products in the field of power distribution and thermal/mechanical simulations of power distribution.
The role requires someone who can stay ahead of the ever-evolving technologies, design and develop innovative products and systems, and build on the firm's product line. You will have a good technical knowledge of engineering manufacturing processes and have an understanding of the impact design has on the end product.
Your duties will include designing products and systems from concept, through the development stage to mass production, making sure the design is technologically sound and ready for usage in a variety of settings. You will also be involved in preparing engineering specifications, establishing bill of materials, providing technical product support from design through to production, and troubleshooting technical issues. This will involve staying informed on the latest developments in the industry and ensuring the company is up to date with the most modern technologies.
You must be capable of working to tight deadlines and working with colleagues and customers to ensure the company hits its performance and manufacturing targets.
You will have a degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or similar area. Alongside this, you shall possess considerable designing and developing products for mass production settings as well as good knowledge of materials, assemblies, components, and design processes.
