An opportunity to make your mark and develop your expertise for a global leading business within the nuclear sector who deliver some of the UK's most ambitious and exciting projects - the business are looking for a Design Engineering Manager to join the team to support and lead a current project which can be based from their Warrington office or on site in Cumbria.
Accountabilities
- Taking the lead in managing multidisciplinary engineering aspects of the project, including overseeing engineering management and ensuring technical assurance of vendors, external consultants, and internally engineered solutions.
- Establishing and nurturing robust relationships with the client to effectively plan, communicate, and coordinate engineering tasks.
- Overseeing all engineering sub-functions and MEI disciplines.
- Acting as the primary engineering contact for the project on behalf of the business, coordinating attendance at relevant client-facing meetings and workshops with the appropriate center of excellence and colleagues.
- Leading and presenting on the project Engineering topics at Work Winning, Operations, and Customer meetings.

Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of effectively leading multi-disciplinary engineering functions in a regulated industry.
- Possession of relevant professional qualifications and membership in mechanical and/or electrical engineering, preferably with chartered status.
- Proficiency in managing design development and reviews.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities, along with the capacity to foster productive relationships with various stakeholders.
- Highly skilled in assembling effective teams under tight deadlines, incorporating diverse competencies and expertise from within and outside the business.
- Ability to earn the respect and attention of customers by demonstrating in-depth knowledge and comprehension of engineering issues, identifying progress impediments, and offering clear problem-solving solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to direct reports, peers, and senior leadership.
- Detailed familiarity with codes of practice and other regulatory standards.
- Ideally, possess experience across a broad spectrum of heavy industries such as petrochemicals, power generation, and nuclear sectors.
