Job Description
JOB TITLE: Design Researcher
SALARY: £66,861 - £74,290
LOCATION(S): London / Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least
two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.
About this opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Design Researcher to join the Experience Innovation team at Lloyds Banking Group. As part of this team, you'll be working with our Experience design colleagues, Product Owners, and Engineers at the bank.
It will be your role to:
- Work with senior managers at the Group to help elicit and capture business visions.
- Work in a small team of designers and prototypers to identify research questions, and help create and run experiments that assist decision making in support of those business visions.
- Analyse and report on findings on those experiments, with recommendations.
- Ensure design, technology and business thinking in all the work the team produces.
- Nurture a culture of inclusion, diversity, collaboration and co-creation.
What you'll need
- Always curious and open about learning new things.
- A strong empathy for other people, understanding their needs, aspirations and challenges.
- Strategic approach to user research, with experience in considering business, technology and customer needs and aspirations together.
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in design research, including ethnographic and longitudinal studies.
- Experience in developing research briefs, conducting user research, analysing qualitative & quantitative data. Comfortable with statistical techniques to help analysis and interpretation.
- Strong communication skills to work across a range of situations and audiences.
- Some knowledge of innovation, scenario planning, design experiment and prototyping approaches.
