Role Overview
The Global Broking Index Delta 1 Desk is seeking a Desk Assistant to join their London team. Index Delta 1 Derivatives are popular among investors seeking to gain exposure to broad market indices with minimal tracking error and cost. They provide a convenient and efficient way to invest in the overall performance of a market or sector without having to buy and manage individual stocks.
This is an entry level role and will provide the successful application with on-the-job training and vast exposure to the fast-paced financial markets. As a Desk Assistant you will be key to providing complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk. Whilst this role will initially cover desk administration duties, there is scope to progress to a Trainee Broker role, subject to passing exams, demonstrating consistent performance and building your career in the broking industry.
You do not require a degree for this opportunity but GCSE’s. A-Level’s or equivalent qualification(s) are required. Whilst this role is junior, we would be keen to speak to those with back or middle office experience.
Role Responsibilities
Promote TP ICAP group.
Ensure timely input of trades into trading systems.
Resolve any trade queries received internally and externally, and ensure any trade discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
Keep trade records up to date.
Update real-time electronic whiteboards with market data.
Provide input on various projects for brokers and traders.
Provide trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis.
General administrative duties across the desk.
Monitor markets, keep up to date with financial news and geo-political events that impact the financial markets.
Experience / Competences
Essential
Qualifications at GCSE level is required as a minimum.
Keen interest in the financial markets and the economy.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel.
Hard working and willingness to learn.
Build relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible.
Desired
Previous work experience within a back or middle office position.
Handles situations and problems effectively using own initiate.
Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others.
Seeks opportunities for improvements.
