Purpose of the Development Designer role:
Our client is looking for a Development Designer to work within the design and development team working on bringing clients' ideas to life by producing solutions to support the design briefs from the customer.
Main duties and responsibilities of a Development Designer:
. Responsible for producing development solutions to support the Prototyping, Estimating, and Client Services teams.
. Develop cost-effective units to suit the most effective route to manufacture.
. Conduct site surveys as and when required.
. You'll play a significant part in delivering retail design projects.
. You will work with the wider team to design, prototype, and implement innovative solutions.
. You will be responsible for producing clear concise designs, following the brand guidelines to surpass the client's brief.
. Managing projects from briefs to final production.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Development Designer:
. Ability to think laterally and create solutions to a given design brief.
. Self-motivated and able to manage projects from brief through to production.
. Develop and maintain a strong relationship with internal teams.
. Take full accountability for your work to ensure deadlines are met and implemented to a high standard.
. Ability to multitask between multiple projects.
. Previous experience in a fast-paced POS business.
. Competent user of Solidworks and MS Office software.
. Sustainability to be front of mind when developing solutions.
. Capable of preparing drawings and planograms.
