What you'll be doing
We are looking for a Development Officer to deliver and project manage new construction projects, ensuring that projects are effectively managed on time and in budget, in line with CHP's corporate objectives. Working closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders whilst also ensuring that all property handovers are managed effectively, and new scheme information is communicated effectively throughout the organisation.
- Manage project and contract processes for new affordable housing projects, ensuring compliance with CHP's policies and statutory requirements.
- Oversee handover of new affordable homes, and ensuring private homes are delivered in readiness for sale, attending site meetings as needed.
- Ensure new homes meet contractual and statutory standards, obtaining necessary certifications before letting or selling (e.g., Building Control sign-off, NHBC sign-off, gas safety and electrical sign-off).
- Control project costs and maintain quality for timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Progress payments and purchase orders in line with CHP's policies for cost control.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Evidence of attainment of good literacy and numeracy, e.g. GCSEs or equivalent demonstrable prior learning
- Minimum one year of experience with residential property handovers, preferably within housing associations.
- Experience in project, contract, and budget management.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work-related tasks.
- Customer and quality focussed.
