We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Development Officer to support our Delivery team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to step into the world of development, working closely with Development Managers, the Head of Delivery, the Director of Development Delivery, and the wider development team. You will be the accountable lead for small or low-risk individual schemes, such as infill and small regeneration projects, ensuring these projects are delivered successfully.
You will work as part of a high-performing team focused on the overall strategic target for Anchor to grow by 500 homes per year
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery team and assisting senior managers with delivery activities.
- Leading small or low-risk schemes to realise agreed business cases, from approval to build contract, reporting performance at appropriate governance levels.
- Managing a client team of consultants and oversee numerous construction projects.
- Monitoring site activities, contract performance, and ensuring delivery to quality standards, budget, and timescales.
- Consistently managing, monitoring, and controlling schemes during the delivery phase, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and programmes.
- Proactively managing, monitoring, and reporting on risks and opportunities.
About You
To be successful in this role ideally you will have/be:
- Educated to degree/HNC level or equivalent.
- Project management qualification.
- Working towards or have a desire to work towards a professional membership such as MCIOB, MRICS, CIH.
- CSCS or CIBT card holder.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
Experience and Skills:
- Solid understanding or experience in development construction delivery and project management, ideally within residential projects.
- Proven ability to deliver projects to targets for programme, cost, and quality.
- Experience in managing or overseeing construction projects.
- Knowledge of the building industry, including materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.
- Basic understanding of QA procedures.
- Strong understanding of the needs and aspirations of various internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Experience in project budgeting, cashflow management, and reporting.
- Experience in contractor procurement and contract administration & management.
- Effective risk mitigation skills.
- Knowledge of the housing and care needs of older people is desirable.
