DevOps Engineer

Up to £55,000 p/a dependant on experience
Harvey Nash are proud to be partnered exclusively with a Private Sector client based in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking to recruit an experienced DevOps Engineer.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to take responsibility for working alongside the Development, Data Science and Infrastructure teams to drive the continuous improvement required by the business across their modern Microsoft tech stack.
The successful DevOps Engineer will therefore have a key focus on the azure platform, supporting and developing the platform as the business grows.
Your ability to manage your time and priorities across multiple work streams will be key, and your ability to think outside the box to solve complex issues will ensure your success in this DevOps Engineer position.
DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc).
- Developing and maintaining our Azure Data Factory and Matillion solutions.
- Identify and troubleshoot any availability and performance issues at multiple layers of deployment, from hardware, operating environment, network, and application.
- Evaluate performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity, and establish the appropriate scalability plans.
- Be able to advise development teams on cost effective cloud technologies to use to meet business challenges.
- Troubleshoot and solve customer issues on production deployments.
- Ensure that SLAs are met in executing operational tasks.
- Collaborate with other engineers to implement operational solutions while defining, adhering to industry best practices.
- Azure platform monitoring.
- Working with the infrastructure team, writing and deploying Terraform code to build scalable and modern microservice based infrastructure on Azure cloud.
- Documentation of work.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload, and able to plan and organise workloads.
- Excellent team player, flexible, responsive, takes ownership and can work on the detail in a real time environment.
- Ensure the businesses needs are met and work as part of team to ensure all tasks are completed.
- Ensure that all colleagues comply with company policies & procedures within Dee Set.
- Ensure adherence to individual store Company Health and Safety Procedures to work in a safe manner at all times.
- Encourage and monitor that a sensible work life balance is maintained by self and all colleagues.
- Ensure that statutory training requirements are met and we are legally compliant.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Azure App Service knowledge.
- Azure networking (regions, vnets, peering).
- Azure DevOps CI/CD - Testing, Artifacts, Deployment.
- Azure Virtual Machines.
- ETL experience.
- MS SQL Server with TSQL.
- Machine learning experience.
- Agile methodology.
- Restful API/JWT.
- Microsoft/Windows Azure libraries.
