This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances and hours.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
In this role you will be responsible for the day to day running and supervision of the Mobile Phone Team based at Haywards Heath.
To succeed in this role, you will be someone who thrives on a challenge, can work independently and has a personal style which builds effective working relationships within teams, with managers and also with customers.
You will be required to contribute to the development of quality standards within the Digital Forensics team focusing on achieving accreditation to ISO 17025.
You will need a detailed knowledge of the Digital Forensics business including the complexities associated with the forensic examination of mobile devices, kiosks, computers and other media devices.
A robust decision-making ability is key, which takes into consideration, threat, harm and risk. You should be able to demonstrate a problem-solving approach to technical aspects of Digital Forensics delivery.
The successful candidate will be a positive role model and enabler, who can improve team culture and demonstrate an ability to react and innovate change.
Skills & Experience
Good standard of education with proven numeracy and literacy skills at a higher education level (Degree level or equivalent) or equivalent by experience in a Digital Forensics environment.
Evidence of a good level of technical knowledge and experience, with the ability to successfully oversee the introduction of technical processes.
Experience and Evidence of your leadership qualities and behaviours, focusing on where you have taken the lead.
Excellent verbal and written negotiation and communication skills.
The ability to problem solve in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage with colleagues and stakeholders.
The ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the team, with customers and with internal and external stakeholders.
