Digital Transformation Professional Trainee
Cynllun Yfory is a unique opportunity for anyone with a degree or a qualification which is equivalent or higher to develop a career at Gwynedd Council.
The scheme is an unique opportunity for a Professional Trainee to understand more about working in local government by getting various practical experiences from all levels of the organisation, to develop essential skills in the estates management area, to develop their networks across the Council and beyond while at the same time gaining a Leading Digital Transformation MSc (University of South Wales) / Information Systems and Digital Innovation MSc (Loughborough University).
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a commitment to developing strong interpersonal and technical skills in the digital area. The Professional Trainee will lead on a number of projects linked to the plan using Agile management methods to drive projects forward in the role of manager or project leader.

QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT TRAINING
ESSENTIAL
You must have or are expected to be awarded a 2:2 degree or higher.
Your degree should be in a subject which is relevant to the field - in a digitally oriented, technical, business or management discipline.. You are qualified to apply whenever you graduated.
You hold a GCSE Grade C or above in Mathematics, Welsh, English and Science

Able to follow a conversation or discussion through the medium of Welsh and English on a professional level and discuss general day to day topics in the field in order to present information and express opinions.
Able to give a pre-prepared presentation and respond to any comments and questions on it in Welsh or English.
READING AND COMPREHENSION - HIGHER LEVEL
Able to understand standard written Welsh and English; both formal and informal.
Able to gather information from various sources such as letters, reports, articles through the medium of Welsh and English in order to fulfil the post.
WRITING - HIGHER LEVEL
Present written information confidently by letter, more detailed and technical report formats, and respond to written requests conveying information, ideas and opinion in Welsh and English (help is available to check the work).
Purpose of the Post
Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
Supporting the Digital Plan (2023/2028) which will include all the functions that arise as a result.
Responsibility for functions . e.g. staff, budgets, equipment
Main Duties
The Council has presented a Digital Plan (2023/2028) which presents 29 new projects. An internal team will lead on this Plan. The Professional Trainee will lead on a number of projects linked to the plan using Agile management methods to drive projects forward in the role of manager or project leader;
Lead on a number of projects in Gwynedd Council's Digital Plan (2023/2028);
Undertake the role of user researcher on key projects;
Join local and national networks to apply for opportunities to attract further financial support to push digital entrepreneurship projects forward;
Prepare evidence-based business cases and progress reports;
Insight into a number of the Council's services to identify where digital innovation can contribute to improvements and/or savings;
Input to the Council's digital plans;
Close collaboration with the Information Technology Service Management Team and the Authority's Digital Boards;
Opportunities to develop digital skills in a wide range of digital technology.

As a member of staff at Gwynedd Council, you have the following responsibilities:
Responsibility for self-development.
