The Marketing Executive is an exciting and varied new role that will play an important part in helping SCF grow awareness of our brand and grow the funds we raise for small, local charities. Working closely with our Marketing Manager, you’ll create written and visual content, help deliver email campaigns, support on events, edit videos, and update our website content on WordPress.
We’re looking for an experienced marketing, communications and events generalist who has a strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. You’ll be a skilled writer and storyteller, able to adapt tone for each of our audiences. You’ll create clear and compelling content that brings our work to life and inspires philanthropy and social action so that our local communities can drive change and realise their dreams.
Responsibilities
· Social media: Responsibility for the Foundation's social media content calendar, creating and scheduling regular content using Canva in line with our content plans and marketing strategy.
· Digital communications: Support the Marketing Manager to create SCF’s various e-newsletters and deliver other e-mail marketing as needed
· Video editing and creation: Work with the Marketing Manager and wider team to create and / or edit video content to support digital marketing channels
· SCF’s website: Regularly review and update existing website content, including responding to requests from across the team
· Press releases: Support the Marketing Manager with the creation of press releases to raise SCF’s profile and support our donor relationships
· Copywriting: Work with beneficiaries and donors to create case studies that showcase the impact of SCF’s work and help generate new income for the organisation. Create copy as needed for marketing collateral and publications, blog posts, and SCF’s website
· Photo library management: Implement and manage an improved online Photo Library to support SCF’s brand, ensuring imagery is collated and stored in line with GDPR guidelines
· Events management: Work with the Marketing Manager and Philanthropy Team to deliver, market, and evaluate Foundation events such as webinars, project visits, and celebration events
Person Specification
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential
· A minimum of three years' experience in a marketing or communications role
· Strong copywriting, proofing and editing skills underpinned by solid experience
· Experience creating communications for variety of stakeholder audiences
· Experience of creating digital communications including e-mail marketing, social media content and website content
· Experience of creating press releases
· Collaborative working style, confidence in building relationships across the organisation
· Experience of managing a diverse workload and strong prioritisation and organisational skills
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering the best possible results
· An understanding of the importance of small, local charities and a passion for helping us achieve our mission
Desirable
· Experience of creating and delivering events
· Experience using Canva or similar to design digital marketing content, publications or collateral
· Experience using Mailchimp, Dotdigital or similar to create and deliver email marketing
· Experience using a Content Management System (CMS) to create and edit website content
· Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce
· Experience of creating and editing video content using Canva / Adobe Premiere Pro or similar
· Experience working within the voluntary sector in a communications / marketing role
