UCL is a large, comprehensive university with over 13,000 staff and 51,000 students from 150 different countries. One of 11 Faculties, Arts and Humanities offers study at all levels across 10 departments spanning a wide range of disciplines. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will work in a group dedicated to supporting all who work/study in our subject areas. You will lead the Faculty Education Team, facilitate the delivery of teaching and learning activities and Student Experience support, and have oversight of all relevant QA and regulatory compliance matters. You will provide high-level leadership and support for the effective operational delivery of the Faculty’s large portfolio of academic programmes and be involved in key tasks such as Student Number Planning. This will all be combined with commitment to the highest possible standards of service to students and colleagues. The successful candidate demonstrate the following criteria: Educated to degree level or have equivalent qualifications or substantial relevant experience. Knowledge of Higher Education policy and current issues in Higher Education (within the UK, across Europe and globally). Significant experience of leadership within HE, including management of staff and resources, and building teams. Experience of finding solutions to a range of problems by applying sound judgement, empathy, and a strategic understanding of relevant issues. A clear understanding of equality and diversity issues as they relate to the Student Experience and how the issues can be addressed by the role-holder. Relevant and substantial experience of student support within an education setting and including a wide range of academic and pastoral support activities.
