About us: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated senior professional services manager or leader to join the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, to lead on the provision of all faculty academic administrative processes in support of our world-class education, including an established Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes portfolio. The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s is ranked 2nd in the world for psychology and psychiatry (US News, Best Global Universities), and we are home to one of the world’s largest centres for neuroscience research. Based on the same site as the world famous Maudsley Hospital and King's College Hospital, students have the opportunity to work alongside world-leading scientists and clinicians. About the role: The role holder will lead on the provision of all faculty academic administrative processes in support of our world-class education Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes portfolio. The role holder will join and lead the IoPPN Education Support Team to deliver an outstanding level of service and support all academic administrative processes; promoting a culture which places students and student support at the centre of all our activities. Working closely with the Dean of Education, the role holder is instrumental in supporting the IoPPN Education Strategy and facilitating our excellent research-led teaching provision. This will be a key senior level role acting at the interface between the university’s Students & Education Directorate function, and the IoPPN- in our shared accountabilities for delivering the university’s strategic ambitions defined in Vision 2029. We are seeking an experienced professional that has demonstrable experience of delivering an excellent student experience for programme portfolio management in a fast-paced and demanding subject area. The Education Support Team in the faculty is currently responsible for a portfolio of 2 x Undergraduate (and an upcoming third undergraduate programme to launch) as well as multiple Postgraduate-Taught education programmes including two highly successful distance learning MSc programmes. Communication with diverse audiences and building collaborative relationships with key education delivery academics (and across King’s College London) is vital in this role. We are looking for a confident and self-assured individual with excellent communication skills, a good listener who works well with people from different disciplines and understands how to balance competing priorities. The successful post holder will be someone with demonstrable experience of building networks, managing a high performing team, motivating and influencing others. Reporting to the Faculty Director of Operations, the post holder will have a dotted line to the Executive Director of Education and Students and be an active member of the Education & Students Functional Leadership Team of the university. The key responsibilities of this role are effective operational leadership over a defined portfolio of education and student professional services within the faculty. The postholder will have a responsibility to contribute to the health of education and the student experience within the faculty and across King’s. As an Associate Director of Education, you will be deployed to work within the education function, across teams and other functions, engaging with a wide range of colleagues to ensure a positive student experience is delivered in line with university timelines and planned milestones for the IoPPN. This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. Closing date: 17th July 2024
