Associate Director,

Investec's PLC team currently advises 130-140 companies on the LSE and AIM as well as more than 1,000 institutional investors across the UK, North America and Europe. The UK PLC Advisory team consists of 45 people – combining specialists with deep sector knowledge and generalists to ensure the optimum blend of sector expertise and cross-pollination of ideas.

What will you be doing?

• Build relationships with and advise current and potential clients concerning a range of activities including the raising of finance, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
• Generate business by developing and selling new business ideas to clients
• Maintaining and further developing relationships with existing clients, as allocated.
• Maintain up to date sector knowledge, market / industry practice and commercial awareness.
• Utilise specialist knowledge to generate new ideas to market to clients and potential clients.
• Communicate with clients, colleagues and regulators as required.
• Identify, target and win new clients to consistently generate revenue.
• Provide clients with advice on ongoing market and regulatory issues.
• Provide advice to corporate clients on their relationships with investors and the marketplace (especially pertinent for Corporate Brokers).
• Communicate with institutional investors regarding corporate clients (especially pertinent for Corporate Brokers)
• Work collaboratively with, develop and train the Associates and Analysts within the team.

What are we looking for?

• Demonstrable experience in Equity Capital Markets (IPOs, secondary offerings), M&A, private capital fundraising and Corporate Broking
• Regulatory knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory), including, but not limited to, the FCA rules, the Aim Rules, the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers
• Relevant market, sector, and necessary technical knowledge
• Excellent understanding of financial analysis, valuation, and modelling techniques
• Internal / external client interaction for business generation 

As part of our collaborative & agile culture, our working week is 4 days in the office and one day remote.
