We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Family Support Team as the Pupil Welfare, Safeguarding, and Early Help Lead.
- Term time only + 20 days
- Pay range – at least PO 2 - point 29 - 32 pro rata
- 37 hours per week term time only plus 20 additional days

The role of the Director of Family Support, Safeguarding, and Early Help Lead is crucial in managing the day-to-day operations of safeguarding, child protection, attendance, and pupil welfare across multiple school sites. Reporting to the Vice Principal, this role oversees a Family Support Team, collaborates with multi-agency teams, and fulfils designated roles such as Deputy Designated Child Protection Lead and Early Help Lead. The primary focus is to enable students to achieve their potential, reduce the risk of referrals to social services, and address various challenges faced by vulnerable families. The Lead engages with families, conducts assessments, plans interventions, and provides guidance while leading and managing a team to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operations of safeguarding, child protection, attendance, and pupil welfare.
- Manage a team of dedicated Family Support Workers and collaborate with multi-agency teams.
- Proactively engage with vulnerable families, providing practical support, advice, and guidance.
- Conduct holistic assessments, contribute to risk assessments, and manage cases involving Child in Need or Child Protection Plans.
- Lead Early Help processes, deliver interventions, and embed safeguarding within the school culture.

Requirements:
- Recognised Child Protection qualification or training.
- Experience in safeguarding within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of current legislation, policy, and best practices in child protection.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various agencies and diverse families.
