Come, play your part in the growing community of businesses committed to creating a strong, prosperous future for British manufacturing.
About us
Made in Britain is the organisation that unites, supports, promotes and represents manufacturing businesses that make their products in the geographical territories of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Much more than an award-winning registered trademark for British manufacturers, Made in Britain is the unique trade association that today brings together more than 2000 businesses that believe in and thrive for a better, greener and more profitable manufacturing sector for the UK. We help Made in Britain manufacturers to sell more and better. We help everyone to find and choose British-made goods.
About the role
We now seek a Director of Membership and Programmes that will unite, support, and galvanise our business community, helping them all succeed even better and faster with the application of the Made in Britain registered trademark. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in the innovation of new and exciting ways to galvanise our growing community and evolve the group strategically into a powerful and purposeful network that will meet online and in-person to raise standards of business responsibility and raise awareness of the meaning of the Made in Britain trademark.
You will direct the Membership Team based at our head office in the Malvern Hills AONB to maintain our high licence renewal rate, and compliance with the trademark licence rules and welcome on-board new members every month making products our diverse range of 50 product sectors. Your primary role will be to build a public-facing narrative of trust in the trademark, from a database of Membership interactions with MiB and with each other. You will increase the number of scheduled programmes for members that currently includes the monthly Trademark Masterclass, the International Trade Programme and the Annual Impact Awards for excellence and success with the trademark.
About you
We seek someone whose experience has been gained in a trade association or membership body, with significant responsibility for member relations. This key new role will require someone experienced in creating and delivering programmes of events, connecting people, and who has the ability to handle multi-dimensional queries, disputes and enquiries from members and the public. A general understanding of marketing and communications techniques, methodologies and trends is key to the role, as is experience in monitoring and evaluation, with the ability to interpret and respond meaningfully to data and evidence.
You will have strong commercial awareness and business acumen, and be an enthusiastic team player with the ability and willingness to engage with a broader collective of consulting organisations. The ability to think strategically - but also have an eye for detail and be prepared to be hands-on is important, as are highly attuned interpersonal, diplomacy and communication skills.
If you wish to help attract the very best manufacturers to our strategic goal of sustainable growth for the sector, then we would love to hear from you!
