Director Of Operations

Position Available: Associate Director of Operations for Access and Medicine

Location: Guildford, Surrey, UK

Pay Rate: £450 umbrella per day

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

As the Associate Director of Operations for Access and Medicine, you will oversee a comprehensive range of specialties across the Division, ensuring exceptional quality and safety standards are maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for Access and Medicine services including Urgent and Emergency Care, Ageing and Health, Rheumatology, Neurology, Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and Diabetes and Endocrinology.
• Lead and coordinate operational management alongside the Chief of Service for Access and Medicine and Associate Director of Nursing for Access and Medicine.
• Ensure adherence to constitutional quality and safety standards, including emergency care operating standards and referral to treatment times.
• Oversee patient flow throughout the acute hospital, ensuring safe and timely care delivery.
• Manage budgets and undertake workforce planning across specialties within the remit.
• Lead key areas such as complaints, governance, risk, and quality improvement projects.
• Act as a deputy for the Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Operating Officer when required.

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in healthcare leadership roles, preferably within Access and Medicine services.
• Strong understanding of quality and safety standards in healthcare settings.
• Proven track record in operational management, budget oversight, and workforce planning.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Ability to navigate complex healthcare environments and drive positive change.
