An exciting opportunity exists to join the School of Engineering in the permanent role of Director of Student Experience. This post will bridge academic, pastoral and administrative aspects of our taught undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, further enhancing and sustaining the high quality of experience for our ca. 1600 students. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for coordinating the strategic development activities relating to enhancement of the Student Experience in the School.
While the position is teaching-focused, as part of your role we will strongly encourage and support you in the pursuit of individual scholarly and/or pedagogical research to contribute to the lively research culture of the School.

You will have a PhD or equivalent doctoral-level qualification or substantial relevant professional experience relevant to the core duties of the post. You will be committed to enhancing the Student Experience in all phases of a student’s relationship with the University.
You will have the desire to pursue a career based on advancing students’ educational experience at University level, the capacity to enthuse others about pedagogical development, and will work collaboratively to promote collegiality.
You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills and have significant experience of championing change management in a complex and challenging environment. You will have a good understanding of national policy relating to teaching in Higher Education, particularly Teaching Excellence and the mechanisms in place to assess such Excellence across an institution and/or department.
The School of Engineering is a multidisciplinary department which aspires for excellence in teaching and research. We run a substantial number of undergraduate courses (see https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/eng/undergraduate/) and taught masters courses (see https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/eng/postgraduate/). We currently have in excess of 1,200 students on taught courses with an annual Year 1 undergraduate intake of c. 350 students. We have recently launched two Degree Apprenticeship courses (see https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/eng/degree_apprenticeships/).
