Job title: Early Careers Development – Engineering Assessor (Vocational)
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base
Salary: c.£40,000 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertake assessment of the Level 3 Maritime Defence Competence Qualification in accordance with the awarding organisations requirements.
- Maintain assessment records in accordance with BAE Systems and Awarding Organisations policies.
- Coach apprentices to reach their full potential by providing key support, mentoring, challenge and motivation throughout all aspects of their learning journey.
- Monitoring and providing developmental feedback to apprentices to assist in the identification of “readiness” for end point assessment.
- Taking professional pride in their role and embrace continuous professional development opportunities in support of delivering innovative and impactful learning and assessment.
- Developing apprentices that are innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers, through the delivery of vocational excellence.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience of assessing vocational engineering qualifications.
- Recognised industry experience at level 3 or above.
- Skilled engineering professional with recognisable occupational competence in either Mechanical, Electrical or Fabrication / Welding.
Desirable:
- Maritime experience would be highly desirable.
- Training & Development qualifications NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Assessor Award qualification and Verifier Award.
