Job Introduction

Our Team manages Education Systems within the Council.

We have some exciting opportunities for highly motivated individuals with a real can-do attitude to join our Education Systems team, working on project for SEND, Early years and exclusions just a name a few.

We have a few 12-month fixed term roles within the team.

We are looking for Education Systems Development Officer’s to join a motivated, solution focused team who provide business advice, guidance and technical support on our Education Systems: Capita One, ChildView, EHCP Hub and other related systems to support our education teams to ensure better outcomes for children

Main Responsibility

The role involves working with all stakeholders (internal and external) to map out business processes and statutory requirements, identifying how the main Education Systems should be developed to support these processes (through recording, monitoring, performance and management information etc). Based upon the current and future needs of the business, the post holder will work with others to develop actions plans for improvement, delivery of the action plans and carry out technical set-up work on systems as required to meet the business requirements.

You’ll have a wide range of key tasks including:        

  • Develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate business process improvements to meet the strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Quality assure data in the system, working with team members and management team to ensure accurate management information is held with the system.
  • Develop and write process notes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to system users to ensure effective and efficient use of the system.

The Ideal Candidate

Working in Education Systems Team requires teamwork, good organisational skills and a good level of competency using IT systems

You’ll also need:

  • Good communication skills because you’ll interact with lots of people across the organisation and externally through phone, in person and email.
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail, as you’ll be keeping data updated and you’ll be working to deadlines.
  • A flexible approach to work as sometimes things can change, and so you’ll need to be able to prioritise work and sometimes change tasks quickly.
  • A passion to always give the best service.
  • You will need full knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to utilise the main applications.
