EC&I Technician – High Temperature Incinerator

About the role:
Astute are looking for an experienced EC&I Technician to join a high temperature incinerator located in Ellesmere Port, this facility, one of the most technically advanced plants in Europe processes hazardous waste which cannot be sent to landfill or treated elsewhere.
As an EC&I Technician you’ll be working a day shift rota of 4 on 6 off covering both days & nights.
Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting directly to the EC&I Team Leader, as an EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for:
* Hands on maintenance, scheduling, fault diagnosis, repairs, planning and optimising all EC&I maintenance activities (both short term and long term) in a safe and efficient manner including outages / shutdowns.
* Testing & maintenance of SIS systems and ATEX equipment.
* Managing and implementing all calibration checks, ensuring this is documented and kept up to date in line with maintenance scheduling.
* The maintenance and upkeep of the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System, ensuring compliance with the Environmental Permit.
* Updating the sites CMMS, ensuring all work is accurately recorded, spares are purchased, and inventory is available for use as and when required.
* Involvement in plant improvement and optimisation programmes.
* Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Ideally educated with a HNC/ ONC / HND in a relevant Control & Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering field
* Apprenticeship in a relevant EC&I discipline
* At least five years post-apprenticeship working experience on a complex engineering plant such as a Refinery, Power Station, COMAH site etc.
* IOSH qualified would be advantageous
* CompEX EX01-04 would be advantageous as would DSEAR/ATEX knowledge
Personal skills:
The EC&I Technician role would suit someone who is:
* Familiar with hands on fault finding, diagnostics and repair or EC&I equipment including pressure, temperature, flow, level, motors, actuators, switchgear, transformers etc.
* Able to carry out calibrations & loop checks on DCS and PLC equipment
* Competent in reading circuit / line diagrams, P&ID’s and other technical documentation
