Introduction to the Role:
We are looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our South Yorkshire based Product team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and overseeing the development of equipment and components for off-grid solar powered battery charging systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and customer needs. You will collaborate closely with other engineers across the product team and stakeholders across the global company to further develop our game changing products. The contract can be full or part time with a flexible term (minimum 3 months but with the potential for up to 12).

What sort of things will you do?
- Project delivery of Electrical Designs and equipment, including designing and overseeing the electrical aspects of our solar PV and battery charging systems.
- Supporting the company in the setup of processes for assembly, installation and maintenance activities. Eg: Prepare technical drawings, specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for installation and maintenance teams who are in the field.
- Provide technical input to the supply chain team and operations teams
- Collaborate with team members in the across the world to identify and develop improvements to electrical systems and our range of products.
- Manage Bill of Materials to optimise for performance and cost. Ensure Quality Control and certifications are met and maintained.
What do you need?
- Experience in electrical system design.
- Experience interpreting and implementing relevant technical standards (eg: IEC/ISO /BS/MCS etc...)
- Troubleshooting and critical thinking for system optimisation
- Experience with Electrical Design software such as Autocad, Solidworks Electrical etc.
Also Desirable (but not essential):
- Solar systems design experience
- Experience of designing and procuring custom parts such as cabinets and mounting hardware
- Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management experience
- Ability to working to find new vendors as well as sourcing new parts from new or existing vendors
