Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Sutton Recruitment are delighted to be working on this local opportunity with a reputable manufacturing business to recruit an Electrical Engineer.
Working within the Anaerobic Digestion section of the business, our aim is to create energy and capable of producing 10MW energy generation. The process of Anaerobic Digestion utilises this to create methane, which in turn is used to generate electricity that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.
Overall Purpose of the Electrical Engineer Role:
The Electrical Engineering team are responsible for the maintenance and repair of processing machinery, AD process equipment, water treatment plant, buildings and site civils. They are also charged with optimising the performance of the AD process by interpreting analysis results e.g. methane content and H2S of Biogas and taking the necessary action.
The individual working within the Electrical Engineering team need to ensure:
• Adherence to safe working practices
• All aspects of engineering both electrical and mechanical knowledge
• Timely response to breakdowns
• High quality of maintenance and repair
• A proactive approach to improving machinery efficiency and effectiveness
• Out of hours engineering support (that include weekends) is detailed in the call-out rota
Key areas of responsibility:
• Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy in all work activities
• Completing Planned Maintenance tasks and recording of corrective actions on the computer-based Maintenance system
• Ensuring that time keeping, and punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level.
• Reaction to breakdowns ensuring quickest possible response and rectification
• Organisation of maintenance and improvement works
• Ensure all breakdowns are recorded along with the time and type
• Ensure stock levels are maintained to a reasonable economic level, ensuring common failure parts are available by identifying parts required and upcoming issues are identified to the Engineering Leader
• Supervise contractors ensuring safe systems of work are followed
• Responsible for Pump repairs / refurbishment and any new installations and fabrications work
• Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
• Assistance with project work with Engineering Manager

Experience
Experienced in Electrical Engineering
Directing and supervising of Contractors
Knowledge
Ability to read and interpret all Engineering Drawings
Development and Implementation of ‘Safe Systems of Work’
Educational
Relevant Engineering qualification (Electrical) and/or experienced time served Engineer
Hours
40 hours per week, 8 Hours per day
Monday to Friday
Occasional overtime
On call rota
Remuneration
Starting salary £40,000.00
