Job description
We are recruiting for an Electrical or Mechanical Supervisor to provide technical support on Building Services / planned maintenance works across a government estates contract in the North East area. The role will require the oversight of the regional maintenance team including job planning, team supervision (both internal and contractors) compliance responsibility, documentation and occasional hands-on duties.
The position is a permanent role paying circa 43-48k basic depending on experience level. Mon-Fri 40 hours per week days, van supplied.
Lead Electrician Duties:
To lead and develop the M&E Maintenance team through effective communication, training and development, ensuring that the staff members are fully competent and trained to undertake key tasks.
To support the effective maintenance works for the site services buildings, plant, systems and equipment.
Evaluate customer requirements and produce proposals including cost and timescales. Monitor the progress of the planned maintenance and remedial works to agree costs and time and ensuring all works are completed to the satisfaction of the customer and regulatory authorities.
To ensure continuity of essential site systems and equipment.
To support and manage the promotion and improvements to the teams Safety, Health and Environment and risk management processes
To manage compliance requirements and ensure records are kept
Hands-on duties - PPM's and reactive works where required
General team supervision
Permits issue and sub-contractor liaison
Requirements:
Qualified Engineer either electrical or mechanical (HVAC)
Experience of staff and team supervision and oversight
Experienced with maintenance and compliance works and the Facilities & Estates sector in general
Be commercially aware and have a sound knowledge of budget preparation, negotiation and man-management
Have good people management, leadership, decision-making and communications skills.
Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers and customers at all levels.
Valid driving license
Able to pass a security clearance
Willing to complete hands-on duties where required
