At INEOS Energy we produce and trade oil, gas, power, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.


We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to provide offshore support for SNS gas production platforms, that are operated on a scheduled intervention basis. The successful candidate will be experienced in offshore oil & gas platform operation and maintenance and ideally with the challenges of operating normally unattended SNS gas platforms on a rotation basis.


RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES


The Electrical Technician reports to an Asset Operations Manager for INEOS Energy and liaises with the Electrical Technical Authority. The Electrical Technician reports to the Offshore Installation Manager whilst offshore. The purpose of the role is to ensure the UK business has competitive, reliable and safe operations targeting best in class assets and QHSE standards.


  • To demonstrate, the highest regard for health, safety and welfare of personnel, facilities and the environment.
  • Work within the Safety and Environmental Management Systems and Safety Case.
  • Ensure maximum reliability and availability is maintained for all Electrical related SECEs.
  • They will promote, through ownership and participation, the INEOS 20 principles and auditing in all aspects of production and operations.
  • Protection of individual and team safety, health, and the environment in accordance with governing company procedures, lifesaving rules, IGGNs and legislation
  • Work collaboratively with engineering staff, onshore operations, assisting with Risk Assessments as required.
  • Performing in an emergency role as defined by the Company Emergency Response Procedures. Ensure any identified platform changes are brought to the attention of INEOS Energy to allow compliance with the INEOS Energy Change Management Procedure.
  • Ensure that all environmental emissions, discharges and any non-conformances are fully reported and where practicable, immediate corrective actions implemented.
  • Carry out proactive monitoring for potential hazards and initiate appropriate corrective actions via the onshore Operations Team and the Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain all Electrical equipment for the process and utility systems to optimize availability.
  • Complete routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance, and installation of equipment.
  • Safeguard the availability and operating condition of Electrical equipment so that production targets are achieved.
  • Collecting data and information required for condition monitoring and preventative maintenance. Operate as part of a multi-disciplined integrated team and undertake maintenance in order to minimise production disruptions.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records, logs and handovers.
  • Ensure sufficient controls of work are in place, utilising the permit to work system.
  • Ensure sub-contractor Electrical work conforms to statutory regulations.
  • Participate in maintenance and inspection planning and prioritisation, including allocation of the resources, equipment, and materials
  • Participate in the development of preventive maintenance and inspection schemes for existing and new field developments
  • Liaise with contractors, technical authorities, platform staff, IVB personnel and other members of the operations team as required.
  • Act as a key member of the offshore Emergency Response team
  • Willingness to train in offshore core competencies (emergency response, helicopter operations, coxswain)

Technical Skills

  • Solutions focused with the ability to implement improvements and efficiencies where appropriate Solid understanding of the production processes, risks, outcomes, technology and market forces are also key to performing competently


Experience


  • Undergraduate degree or HNC in a relevant science or engineering subject
  • Relevant NVQ in Electrical discipline
  • Significant previous Electrical experience (>5 years) in the oil & gas, petrochemical or energy industry
  • COMPEX 01-04  BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
  • C&G 2391-52 Inspection and Testing (or Equivalent)
  • Electricity at Work Regulations
  • MIST, Offshore Survival (BOSIET/FOET)
  • Medical Certificate including ER Medical Assessment and secondary means of escape training i.e. Donut.
  • Advantageous - HERTM, OERTM, First Aid, Twinfall Coxswain, Banksman/Slinger Level 1
