Sensata’s Electrification group is developing safe, secure Charge Box technology to control connection of EV chargers to vehicle batteries. We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician to join our innovative cross functional team in delivering cutting edge automotive electronics projects.
As an Electronics Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the development, testing, and maintenance of electronic components and systems critical to the performance and safety of our EV products. The job role will include but is not limited to:
- Building development samples – soldering / testing / fault finding
- Maintaining and general upkeep of electronic labs – stock taking / orders / maintenance
- Support engineering with fault finding, problem resolution, sample builds and verification
- Preparation of test vehicles and test driving
- Preparation of custom test setups
The successful candidate should have the following skills:
- Work as part of a team
- Good communication (oral and written)
- Competent in windows applications
- As a team player, you will be responsible for supporting engineering functions in concept development to customer demonstration through to final product development
- Previous experience working with High Voltage applications is desirable
Essential criteria include:
- A good understanding of electronic, mechanical and manufacturing engineering
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a relevant field of engineering
- A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent with desired subjects to include Maths, English, Science
- An HNC/HND within engineering is not essential but desirable
Additional Job Description
- Interpreting and utilising electrical wiring schematics
- Interpreting design plans, building development samples, including soldering, testing and fault finding
- Arranging maintenance of specialist equipment
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, especially relating to High Voltage (HV) test equipment
- Carrying out testing, documenting results & observations, ensuring accuracy and completeness for internal records and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical support and test guidance to other technicians and engineering staff, sharing expertise in electronic system design, testing methodologies, and troubleshooting techniques
- Testing and development of Sensata systems or other sub-systems on vehicle installs
- Working in compliance with safety regulations
Desirable Criteria:
- Connector Assembly experience
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers is desirable
