Our client are looking for an all-rounded expert in their industry who are a qualified teacher or are open to exploring an opportunity in teaching as they are happy to support you through the qualification if you are passionate in developing a career in the adult education world.

This will be a full time permanent role based in a prison therefore this position requires an Enhanced DBS check and security clearance.

Responsibilities:

As a Vocational Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our adult learners. Your responsibilities will encompass:

1. Exceptional Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction in introductory theory and practice to adult learners within a secure learning environment.

2. Curriculum Enhancement: Contribute to curriculum development, adapting it to meet the specific needs of our learners.

3. Holistic Development: Support the holistic development of learners by using real-world examples to enhance their skills in areas such as English, math, citizenship, and more.

4. Engaging Learning: Foster high participation and attendance rates through inspiring and engaging teaching sessions.

5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate learner records and information.

6. Industry Insight: Utilise your industry knowledge to make subjects come alive for your learners.

7. Collaborative Solutions: Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate and develop solutions that ensure high learner satisfaction rates.

8. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to learner information.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A teaching qualification such as PTLLS, AET, CTLLS or equivalent (desired)
• If qualified - experience in both theoretical and practical vocational training or education.
• An assessor qualification such as CAVA, TAQA, A1 (desirable but not mandatory).
• Resilience and the ability to work independently.
• A learner-centered approach with a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for individuals.
• Strong organisational and reliability skills.
• A qualification in plumbing or construction from level 2
• Over 2 years experience working in the Construction or plumbing industry
• Adaptability and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in IT, including experience with MS packages and CRM systems.
• A strong commitment to personal and professional development.
• A team-oriented mindset, ready to support colleagues.
