Reed Further Education are currently working with a National Training Provider for education on a permanent role they have available. The training provider who are part of one of the leading Education Groups in the North of England and Midlands are seeking a Employability and Skills Tutor on a full time basis. They have centres in the Midlands, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Humberside.
Salary: £29,660 per year
Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8.30 - 5pm however courses run from 9.30 - 3.30 so you are able to finish the role at home if it suits the businesses needs.
The role is ab Employability and Skills Tutor role, delivering the wrap around employability units as part of their successful DWP SWAP programmes to support adults into employment. They mainly run Security, Construction, Digital programmes and have run Care, Warehousing, Retail, Hospitality ones (they would welcome any background). The courses are all developed, resources produced so it’s a case of the Tutor familiarising themselves with the materials and teaching. Full support and induction provided. Courses are from entry level to L2 and currently don’t deliver any Maths and English quals but would be open to this in the future. Also they run a Digital Inclusion programme so would welcome candidates with an IT delivery background.
About the role
This role will involve supporting learners through sector work academy programmes to progress them into employment. This role will be responsible for the teaching, learning and assessment of short qualifications, Employability Skills and customer service skills. Experience delivering specialist sector qualifications is desirable and these include:
Construction
Care
Hospitality
Digital (basic to intermediate)
Maths
English
ESOL
About the person
The successful applicant will have experience delivering teaching, learning and assessment preferably in a FE setting and or welfare to work experience. A minimum Level 3 teaching qualification is essential and occupational competence is desirable in at least 1 sector specialism. Candidates should also have a can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills.
