We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Professional to join us in the role of Employee Relations Lead in the UK.

As an Employee Relations Lead in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region, you will play a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between the organization and its employees. Your primary focus will be to create and maintain a work environment that is conducive to employee satisfaction, productivity, and engagement. Managing multiple ER cases from initiation to resolution, assisting employees at all levels in the organization, providing guidance to leaders, and driving consistency in the application of policy and procedure, you will serve as an Employee Relations point of contact and subject matter expert (SME).

The role will offer the flexibility to work from home (if preferred) and location is flexible across the UK.

What you will do...

  • Handle escalated queries from Tier 1 and 2 Human Resources (HR). Respond to ER inquiries which may include, but are not limited to: disciplinary action, progressive performance management, policy breach, investigations, employee standards of conduct, terminations, redundancies, re-structures, ethic line complaints, TUPEs.
  • Resolve Tier 3 ER case management & documentation, managing cases in SNOWthrough to resolution with the help of internal Legal function and/or external legal providers as necessary.
  • Lead the ER team for the UK&I
  • Seek continuous improvement. Identify areas of improvement and implement actions that allow standardizing processes, creating an appropriate work environment and implementing a consistent approach in the ER area.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and people leaders providing guidance and solutions to address workplace concerns and conflicts.
  • Manage investigations into employee grievances, complaints, and disputes, ensuring a fair and objective process.
  • Provide guidance to employees and people leaders on company policies, procedures, and best practices for conflict resolution.
  • Contribute to learning programs to enhance Employee Relations skills, conflict resolution, and communication within the organization.
  • Support people leaders in coaching and mentoring employees to promote a positive work environment.
  • Provide advice & support from an ER perspective to organizational change programs.
  • Stay up to date with current employment laws and regulations in the EMEA region. Collaborate with HR and legal teams to develop and update company policies and procedures related to Employee Relations in compliance with regional labor laws.
  • Ensure that ER policies are communicated effectively to employees and managers and that they understand their rights and responsibilities.
  • Conduct a regular, methodical review of documented processes to ensure consistency across the ER function. Work jointly with key partners to create or modify documented processes as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze data related to Employee Relations issues to identify trends.
  • Communicate and act on key Employee Relations metrics to proactively address areas of concern.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all Employee Relations cases and activities.
  • Ensure all documentation and communication adhere to data privacy regulations

What you will bring...

ESSENTIAL

  • Majority of career is Employee Relations focused with a passion for ER
  • Some people leadership experience
  • Experience supporting an employee base of industrial and front line workers
  • Substantial hands-on experience in independently managing Employee Relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution including disciplinary action, progressive performance management, policy breach, investigations, employee standards of conduct
  • Significant restructuring and reduction in force experience

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in handling ethics complaints and TUPE transfers
  • Recognised HR/ER qualification at degree level or equivalent
  • Negotiation and conciliation qualifications/training
  • Bi-lingual skills a plus but nit a necessity (German, French, Greek, Spanish)
  • Experience working in EMEA countries
  • Experience working in an HR services environment, with SNOW and Workday
  • Experience working with Trades Unions and Works Councils
  • Experience working in a large, highly matrixed, global company
