Job description

This position is offered as a fixed-term contract, comprising 37 hours per week, with an end date of December 31, 2024.


Are you motivated by seeing people achieve their full potential? Our UK Government funded employability projects offer training, work experience and paid work experience opportunities to people who want to work but face complex barriers to employment.

The Employment Mentor role works directly with participants to support their development and progression into employment and provides support to help them remain and develop in the workplace where needed. They offer one-to-one mentoring, support with job-seeking and interview skills, the chance to gain new qualifications and provide in work support or job coaching to help them learn a new role and gain confidence. If you have experience of supporting people with barriers to working such as disabilities, learning disabilities and or autism and/or have experience working with businesses or in a training role this could be an opportunity for you.

We are particularly interested in people with experience of supporting people to seek work or in creating supported employment opportunities. You will need to have excellent communication and negotiation skills and a positive attitude towards progression and removal of barriers to work. Believing in what people can do and supporting them to achieve this.
