About the Trust
At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Our staff serve a local population of nearly two million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services. We provide inpatient care for over 5,000 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, and Croydon. As well as serving the communities of south London, we provide more than 50 specialist services for children and adults across the UK and beyond.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- To plan, deliver and evaluate engagement with diverse communities, using creative methods e.g., workshops, focus groups, interviews
- Experience of working with children and young people, parents and carers will help the ideal candidate in this role.
- You will be confident, creative, comfortable working collaboratively with others from multiple organizations, have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), be personable and well organized to meet project deadlines
- Project management, administration, minute taking, diary management, report writing and presenting findings will be a regular part of the role
- Able to work well in a small, fast paced team and progress actions independently
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
- Knowledge of Project Management
- Experience of working with multiple partner organisations, individuals and stakeholders
- Experience of working in diverse communities and commuted to equality agenda
- Experience of taking formal minutes
- Experience developing and improving administrative systems and processes
- Work experience in patient and public engagement (essential)
- Competent user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Competent user of design programmes such as Canva and online software such as Slido, Eventbrite
This role may require you to show evidence of education at master’s level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
