Engineering Physical Environments Manager
Location: Templecombe or Cheadle
25-30% Travel required to other UK sites

Our Opportunity
Thales Underwater Systems (UWS) who design, develop and support Sonar Systems applications for Anti-Submarine Warfare and Mine Hunting, have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Physical Environments Manager to join a small but mighty team.
You will report to the Head of Engineering Operations for the day-to-day coordination and management of the Physical Environments (Development Laboratories for Hardware and Software, Reference Set Facilities, Site Test Facilities, Business Managed Networks, etc.) across all UWS Sites. Additionally, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of a Vision, Strategic Roadmap and improvement plan for current and future Physical Environments.
Some Key Responsibilities Include:
- Create and manage ‘Engineering Physical Environment’ Roadmaps for UWS UK.
- The Development and delivery of the ‘Engineering Physical Environment’ Management Plan
- Scope, Develop and Deliver required Process, Practice and Tooling for management of ‘Engineering Physical Environment’ (i.e. Centrik)
- Support to and preparation for ISO Accreditation and Audits, HSE Audits and Safety Tours
- Support the Head of Engineering Operations with other related activities:
- Alignment with overall strategy for engineering operational capabilities (along with People, Physical Infrastructure, T& E facilities etc.)
- Support to EPP definition and implementation (as appropriate)
- Development of interfaces/interactions with wider UK Engineering Operations (with key focus on E2/IS relationships)

About You
You will have…
- Experience in engineering practice around use of ‘Engineering Physical Environment’ within delivery of engineering R&D and Service programmes
- Good understanding of engineering disciplines
- Experience in managing and driving continuous improvement processes
- Leadership capability: ability to effectively manage relationships across the business and achieve outcomes beneficial to both the engineering team and the broader business.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to develop an effective network with key individuals
