The Opportunity

In the role of Team Leader (Structures) Projects, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, talented and experienced individual who is keen to demonstrate their leadership, managerial and financial planning and project delivery skills in this role. Ideally you will be working towards or be a Chartered Engineer and have experience with highway structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls and reinforced earthworks and a desire to pass this knowledge on to others.

  •  Managing and develop a team of Engineers to scope, procure and deliver the capital works schemes for all assets within the Structures Team area of responsibility
  • Prepare briefs for framework consultants and manage contracts through the framework
  • Prepare briefs for term maintenance contractors and manage projects through to completion on site
  • Financial reporting and budget management
  • The post holder will operate where required in informal or matrix managed teams to deliver projects for the Directorate. This will include team working to coordinate and plan work, agree priorities with members of the team and ensure there is resilience in delivery.
