What you will be doing
You will be expected to take responsibility for teams by:
- Providing leadership for an installation team, installing Business Enterprise, IoT and Fixed Wireless network Equipment to residential and business customers
- CAT5 & CAT6 termination, cabling and routing work
- M5 power beam and siklu works which includes alignments Configuration and maintenance
- Working at height
- PPOE/ POE switch experience
- Ensure team are professional and diligent whilst carrying out all aspects of IoT, Fixed Wireless & business enterprise installations
- Maintain positive, helpful and professional attitudes and behaviours at all times (Internal and External customers)
- Understanding of fixed wireless, IOT sensors and device installation and maintenance
- Ability to understand and produce detailed industry-standard level of installation documentation
- Achieve team targets, KPIs and ensure agreed activity levels are achieved.
- Adhere to Health and Safety legislation and company policies and culture code (Working at heights)
- Ensure the team maintain good attendance levels
- Flexible approach to team task allocations
- Organised with an analytical approach to problem solving
- Ensure all mandatory and professional training is completed within agreed timescales
- Carryout daily mandatory checks which include Van, tools and equipment
- Carry out on call work and associated duties
- Collaborate with other departments within Connexin e.g. FTTP and Fibre Network teams as required when cross functional work is required
- Contribute to good team working and delivering service objectives
- escalating any operational, safety, or other inappropriate actions or behaviours of the team to the line Manager
As well as being technical, this role can be physically demanding and requires plenty of manual work. Because of this, candidates need to be fit, strong and resilient.
Often you will be working outside in a wide range of weather conditions, so being the sort of person who can work in these environments is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring you and the team:
- Carrying out all aspects of Fixed wireless, IoT, Devices, Sensor and installations
- Ordering and stock management, e.g. Anixter
- Meet agreed activity levels
- Time management
- Maintaining tool kit e.g. clean and in good working condition
- Working in accordance to agreed safe working practices
- Incident reporting
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Fibre and IoT, Business Technologies and installation techniques, including troubleshooting to resolve any operational issues
- Escalating any operational, safety, or other inappropriate actions or behaviours of the team to the Line Manager
- Completing all mandatory training and professional training, as directed
- Resource management
- Maintaining customer satisfaction, resolve any concerns or issues
- Optimise productivity and performance of the team
- Contribute to good team working

Essential skills, experience and competencies
- Internal and external Cable installations (CAT5/6 and Fibre)
- Problem solving

- Understands basic principles of all other engineering disciplines

- Maintaining good team working and contribute to the delivery of service to meet customer requirements
- Leading a team
- Experience of working independently in all aspects of IoT, Devices, Sensors and Fibre installations and engineering, or equivalent
- Working alone and as part of a team
- Maintaining safe working practices
- Fulfilling a similar role
Desirable Qualifications
