Working hours:
- Monday 13:00 – 16:15
- Thursday 09:00 – 12:15, 13:00 – 14:30
- 4 hours of admin/non-contact time to be used Between 8:30 – 17:15
Job Duties:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive English language lectures to students studying Pearson’s Functional Skills English and Edexcel Pearson Lift 2.0 GCSE English
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, and assessment tasks
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods and techniques to facilitate effective learning
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Stay updated with current educational trends and incorporate relevant advancements into teaching practices
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall academic community
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field
- Relevant teaching qualification or certification
- Demonstrated experience in teaching English to diverse student populations

Previous experience teaching English to diverse student populations
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, and linguistics
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts
- Proficient in using educational technology and digital resources
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 or higher in English or a related field
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Experience teaching Functional Skills and GCSE English
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
