Job description

Specific Responsibilities
The Environmental and Regulatory Manager for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s EH&S team the company’s North Sea office reporting to the EH&S Director - Global Regulatory.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, programs, procedures, required to establish compliance with all local and global environmental & sustainability regulations.
Directing all environmental compliance audits and develop strategies for addressing areas of concerns identified.
Managing and directing the environmental unit team in the event of a spill.
Implementing major policies, procedures and long-range programs related to corporate environmental & sustainability based on leading indicators, industry trends and actions
Act as the nominated “Competent Person” for environment as prescribed by the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (the regulator)
Ensuring environmental permits are prepared and delivered timely, and maintained as per permit conditions
Analyzing trends, reporting on statistics and managing non-compliances.
Establishing, managing and tracking company wide environmental & sustainability leading and lagging metrics.
Custodian of the integrated Environmental and Energy Management System (ISO-certified).
Proactively building relationships and credibility within the North Sea operator peer group, regulators, and industry bodies to ensure the environmental & sustainability function is delivering value and partnering with key stakeholders.
Reviewing and incorporating new environmental & sustainability programs and standards as they are introduced and/or change within the oil and gas industry.
Ensuring the governance around the GHG emissions, including reduction plans, metrics, and industry targets.
Maintaining the region’s Environmental budget and staffing plans, as well as providing leadership concerning the effectiveness and professional development of Apache North Sea’s Environmental team.
Managing region Environmental personnel, including hiring, employee performance, talent development, succession and retention.
Collaborating with other departments as the team reviews activities that fit with Apache’s core values, maximize shareholder value and meet the company’s overall strategic goals. Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Master’s Degree in relevant field (Environment / Science).
Technical expertise in one or more of environmental assessment, carbon, biodiversity, management system, or sustainability
Extensive experience leading and developing high performing teams in achieving strategic goals
Demonstrated success in delivering results
Extensive experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multifaceted problems
Proven leadership, management, administrative and organizational skills
Demonstrated capability to communicate vision, strengthen an organization, involve all employees, build teams and develop talent
Strong business understanding enabling them to adapt broad business concepts to enhance profitability, grow the business and set organizational policies
Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Heath, Safety & Environmental
Contribute to the prevention of Major Accidents by complying with commitments made in Apache Corporate Major Accident Prevention Policy
Comply with Apache EH&S Standards, management system requirements and applicable regulations
Designated Emergency Response Role (s)
To provide support to the Apache Business Support Team, BST, in a role related to your current role. May fill other duties within the response structure as required Competencies
