Here at Collins Maintenance Repair and Overhaul UK facility in Marston Green, we provide specialist technical support for Electronic Engine Control, Fuel Metering Units, Actuators and Pumps units widely used in the Aerospace Industry. Join us as we take flight!
This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-renowned aerospace Company and an EHS team which is continually leading the way to promote healthier and safer workplaces for all employees.
The industrial placement student is a key member of the team with varied responsibilities including being an active part of the daily running of a diverse site, being involved in emergency planning and management, as well as data collection and analysis. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to play a key part in identifying and managing projects to improve, the environmental management of site as well as the welfare and safety of its employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Progress key environmental projects to help site achieve 2025 goals; company-wide sustainability goals; monitor key indicators e.g., water, gas, electricity.
Collect and collate raw data, analyse and report to site and corporate teams using face to face and bespoke reporting tool.
Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and maintain evidence files.
Track progress and support closure of corrective action plans; developed from audits.
Organise various meetings and maintain appropriate minutes and actions.
Manage improvement actions for key Health and Safety elements e.g. fire safety.
Support team continuous improvement activities and become improvement lead (ACE Pilot).
Provide regular progress reports.
Following suitable training, provide EH&S support to site personnel, including EHS inductions and in-house training.
Jointly represent EH&S team at various site wide meetings.
Be an advocate for health and safety on-site and always be willing to learn and apply critical knowledge.
Essential Criteria:
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Analytical skills.
Can work as part of a team and under their own initiative.
Willingness to problem solve and be solutions focused.
Desirable Criteria:
Some work experience in a customer facing role.
Some knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety.
