Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Position Overview:

As a Civil Projects Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately assessing project costs and providing comprehensive estimates. Working closely with the project management and engineering teams, you will analyse project specifications, conduct material and labour cost research, and prepare detailed cost estimates to support project bidding and planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project scope and requirements.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis, including material, labour, equipment, and overhead costs, to determine project budgets and pricing strategies.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to organize and document cost data, ensuring accuracy and consistency in estimates.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of costs, timelines, and project deliverables, to support client presentations and negotiations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to inform estimating processes and improve cost competitiveness.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings and provide ongoing support to project teams to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proven experience as an estimator in the civil engineering or construction industry, with a strong understanding of project estimation principles and techniques.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs and timelines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex information clearly.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Professional accreditation or certification (e.g., ICE, RICS) is desirable but not essential.
