Estimator Position – Drylining Specialist
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Barnsley
Our client, a family-operated business specializing in drylining, plastering, metal stud partitioning, suspended ceilings, acoustic wall panels, and office fit-outs, is seeking a motivated Estimator to join their team. With over a decade of experience, they've witnessed substantial growth and are now expanding their workforce.
The successful candidate will handle a diverse portfolio of projects spanning education, office fit-outs, hospitality, industrial, and residential sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the senior estimator and manage individual workload effectively.
- Deliver precise estimates for customized drylining solutions, both internal and external.
- Compile and distribute tender packages for subcontractor work.
- Prepare tender analyses for subcontracted work packages.
- Conduct negotiations and analyses of subcontractor work packages.
- Generate, distribute, and upkeep subcontract orders and variations.
- Develop comprehensive pre-start and site start budgets for review.
- Process subcontract payments, variations, and final accounts.
- Complete monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost reporting.
- Implement cost reporting and maintain budget control.
- Oversee the estimation process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather essential information for estimates.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to ascertain project requirements.
- Create detailed cost estimates, encompassing labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Monitor project costs throughout construction, identifying areas for cost control.
