Event Liaison Officer
About the role….
We require an officer to support the overall efficient delivery of safe events within Gateshead. This post will provide specialist administration, relationship management, event planning and Safety Advisory Group (SAG) support to event planners and managers. The role is essential to ensure SAG recommendations and actions are followed up and met by external event deliverers and actions are carried out in a timely manner.

What you need to have:
You must have knowledge of Health and Safety, Industry legislation/guidance, and understand the principles of continuous professional development and service improvement initiatives.
You must have good organisational skills and experience of event planning and coordination including budget management and financial control. Experience of carrying out dynamic risk assessments and problem solving is also essential.
You must have experience of communicating effectively with colleagues, other Council Services, and external agencies, including dealing with members of the public over the telephone and in person.
You must be able to demonstrate experience of working in a range of environments (office, arenas and green spaces), and working with a range of agencies, volunteers and casual employees.
A full UK Driving License or access to mobility support is essential for the role and you must hold 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or grade C or above or relevant Event experience.
Working flexibly outside of office hours to meet business needs and knowledge/experience of Microsoft applications is essential.
