Job description

As a Catering Events Supervisor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of various catering events hosted on campus. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and coordination of events, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of catering events, including menu planning, setup, staffing, and logistics.
  2. Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and preferences are met throughout the event planning process.
  3. Staff Management: Supervise catering staff, including servers, chefs, and support staff, ensuring they are properly trained and motivated to deliver exceptional service.
  4. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance.
  5. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of event budgets, ensuring expenses are kept within approved limits.
  6. Problem Solving: Address any issues or concerns that arise during events, finding creative solutions to ensure a positive experience for clients and guests.
  7. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing appropriate measures to minimize risks during events.
  8. Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback from clients and guests, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Previous Experience: Proven experience in catering or event management, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  2. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and vendors.
  3. Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of events are planned and executed flawlessly.
  5. Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire catering staff to deliver outstanding service.
  6. Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations: Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance at all times.
