Job description

Isle Utilities is a dynamic and rapidly growing innovation consultancy, specialising in the development and commercialisation of emerging technologies in the water & environmental sectors. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Events Lead and Personal Assistant.

We run our globally recognised Technology Approval Group (TAG) to bring new technologies in front of our water and industrial clients. We work with water companies to help them identify what solutions are available to meet their challenges including in advanced wastewater treatment, resource recovery and decarbonisation. We also help them understand how innovation can make the step change they need. We advise technology companies on how to enter markets in different countries, who their competitors are, and what it is that is setting them apart. We undertake technical due diligence for investors, using our science and engineering-based investigation skills to find out what stage in development a technology is. We also work with funding bodies to carry out research into innovation trends and activities in the water sector across the globe.

The Role:

The Events Lead and Personal Assistant will play a pivotal role in coordinating and executing various company events while providing comprehensive administrative support to team members. This multifaceted position requires a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

This is a permanent position and offers the successful candidate long-term and international opportunities, with the chance to move between business units and our global offices.

Responsibilities will include:

Event Coordination:

  • Plan, organise, and execute company events, including conferences, online/face to face/hybrid meetings.
  • Liaise with vendors, venues, and other event-related partners to ensure seamless execution.
  • Manage events which keep within budget and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate logistics, including travel arrangements, accommodations, catering, and audio-visual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed time line for each event, ensuring all deadlines are met and the events run smoothly.

Administrative Support:

  • Support Isle's Client Relationship Managers and TAG Membership team with scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings to ensure clients are kept informed of upcoming events and are regularly engaged, answering their questions related to logistics or administrative matters.
  • Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations as needed.
  • Support with travel arrangements and booking accommodation for Isle team members.
  • Tracking and management of the membership invoicing process, ensuring timely renewals of contracts and PAyment.
  • Support the delivery of marketing activities related to events to ensure promotional opportunities related to events are maximised.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
  • Qualification in Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in event planning, marketing and administrative support roles is an advantage.

The candidate must have the right to work in the UK.

The position will be based in our office in central London, although there is the opportunity for hybrid working. Many of our staff work from home and so the candidate should be prepared to operate in a remote working environment.

What we offer:

  • A varied and autonomous job in a dynamic company
  • An exciting, flexible and multicultural working environment
  • An appreciative corporate culture with flat hierarchies
  • Opportunities to move internally to explore new geographies, topics and business areas
  • Active work-life balance through flexible working hours, various working time models and mobile working
  • An attractive and centrally located office in London (home working is available)
  • Competitive salary (the range is available upon application)
  • Comprehensive benefits package including:

o 24 days annual leave, rising to 30 days with increasing years of service

o Christmas eve closure

o Two days paid charity leave a year
