The Role
We are currently searching for an eager and ambitious Exhibition Sales Manager to help us establish and retain business growth opportunities which help drive sustainable financial growth for the GMA.
Our ideal candidate will be able to implement an effective sales and growth approach that expands our reach and strengthens member and client relationships. They will also actively seek out other business opportunities that can boost revenue and set our organisation apart.
This role is a great opportunity for a motivated and highly experienced sales/business development professional with a successful track record of over-achieving sales targets accompanied with a strong understanding of marketing, technology, and product.
Reporting to the Commercial, Membership & Events Director, the successful candidate will help develop and execute a business development strategy as well as implement protocol and processes to build relationships with new and existing clients, maximising key relationships to create synergies, alliances, and opportunities. They will lead on the sales strategy to promote and sell exhibition stands and sponsorship packages in our flagship exhibition SALTEX which attracts over 8000 visitors over 2 days.
They will have solid experience (typically between 7-10 years with 3 years at a general management level) in sales/business development with a proven track record of achieving (£m+) sales targets. This experience should include solid event experience and working knowledge of trade shows, awards, membership associations and/or the groundscare sector. Additionally, they will demonstrate critical thinking, strong business acumen and negotiation skills, as well as exceptional communications skills.
