Are you trained in the use of tactics to best support students with their wellbeing and mental health in order to enhance their learning? If you're a skilled and passionate SEMH specialist, Team Educate would love to hear from you!
Team Educate are proud to represent a unique and inclusive independent school in the Coventry-border area who are seeking to appoint several Teaching Assistants (full and part-time considered) to start ASAP.
The successful Teaching Assistant will be responsible for facilitating structured intervention (Maths, English and Mental Health) for pupils who have additional learning needs relating to their social, emotional and mental health, in addition to supporting pupils within their regular lessons and activities. This will sometimes involve working alongside pupils in a mentoring capacity outside of lessons, and will require a dynamic, thoughtful mentor who is able top build strong relationships and build rapport with young learners. The majority of pupils you will be working with will have EHCPs.
The school is highly committed to supporting their pupils, and the staff share the same, committed ethos of supporting their learners' academic progress and wellbeing at all times. They are looking for equally committed mentors to join them in their journey. The school also boasts fantastic facilities set in a beautiful rural setting, and offers a better work-life balance for it's staff - with lessons finishing at 1pm every Friday.
Responsibilities of Teaching Assistants:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with special educational needs in order to promote academic and social development.
- Use your skillset to communicate with learners and support them in their studies to foster engagement in the classroom.
- Assist in the implementation of IEPs and EHCPs.
- Collaborate with specialist teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide assistance with emotional wellbeing and behavioural needs.
Teaching Assistants will need:
- A Level 2 or 3 Qualification in a relevant area - ideally 'Supporting Teaching and Learning.'
- Previous experience of working with children or young adults in a mental health/wellbeing focused setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs (SEN), specifically SEMH, ASC, ADHD or Attachment Disorder.
- Patience, empathy, and compassion, with a drive to support pupils' emotional and academic progress.
This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children who need support with their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
