External Supply Manufacturing Financial Controller& Business Partner

Location: Macclesfield, Warsaw, Sodertalje, Gaithersburg

Join us in a unique finance position within the External Supply Manufacturing organisation, a core business area for AstraZeneca Global Operations. This role combines Financial Controllership with the opportunity to develop your finance Business Partnering skills. A truly broad finance role!

Accountabilities:

As the ESM Financial Controller, you will ensure a robust and effective financial control environment across the ESM Organisation, encompassing both SOx and non-SOx units. You will collaborate with multiple partners across these business units, identify and drive improvement opportunities across the financial controls framework, and act as a Subject Matter Specialist for responding to ad-hoc business queries in accounting policies and compliance.

In addition to leading the Financial Controllership for ESM, as a Finance Business Partner within the ESM Finance team, you will lead the Financial Controllership for ESM and provide Business Partnering support for a number of areas including Market Access, Export Sales & ESM Distribution, Alliance Brands, and Alexion. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and conduct financial modelling and ad hoc financial analysis.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified accountant with proven experience in financial controlling, analysis & modelling.

  • Experience of working in SOX and/or other sophisticated business control environments. 

  • Self-motivated – ability to improve controls & processes across different sites/ business areas.

  • Excellent Communication / Interpersonal Skills – ability to articulate the controls in place, their effectiveness, how these can be improved & link them to the general needs & risks of the business.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Supply chain or manufacturing finance background

  • Experience of working in a global pharmaceutical business

  • Audit background & experience

  • SAP experience
