Summary
We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to join our school team. We have 210 infant children on roll and a nursery which accommodates 3 year old children. Our school serves a diverse community, with a vibrant mix of different religions and cultures. Many of our children have English as an additional language. The successful candidate will work with school colleagues, outside agencies and local community businesses to support our families and children using Early Help strategies.
Applicants must be willing to undertake DSL training as safeguarding duties will form a significant part of this role. Attendance monitoring and intervention will also be an integral part of the job advertised. There is a requirement to work an additional 5 days. This will be a flexible arrangement dependent on school need.

Essential Qualifications
English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) (A*-C grades)
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
Evidence of Continued Professional Development relevant to this post

Mental Health First Aid Training
Paediatric First Aid Training
Essential Experience
Working with children and families who have a variety of needs
Working with outside agencies (CSC, Police, Health)
Working with School Management Information Systems (SIMS & CPOMS)
Attendance monitoring and intervention
Knowledge of Early Help Assessment and strategies (TAFs)
Desirable Experience
Supporting children with challenging behaviour
DSL referrals into Children's Social Care.
Community liaison with local businesses and support groups
Managing Grant Funding applications (Eden Red vouchers, Greggs Breakfast Club )
